Dentures are expensive.

How expensive are dentures?

No doubt, dentures are an investment. But the confidence, comfort, and freedom they provide can be invaluable. At Aspen Dental, we always offer our patients low everyday prices and no surprises – we’ll provide a clear, detailed estimate on the cost of your treatment plan in writing, so you know what to expect.

You should know that all dentures are not made the same. And the cost of your dentures will ultimately depend on what you need.

The difference between dentures

Partial Dentures

Partials are a great solution if only some of your natural teeth are missing. They can make it easier to chew and speak, help support cheeks and lips, so your face doesn’t sag, and prevent shifting of your remaining natural teeth.

Partial dentures are replacement teeth fixed to an acrylic base that matches the color of natural oral tissue. Your partial will often have a clasp that attaches to your natural teeth. Your dentist will recommend the best kind of removable partial denture for you.

Complete Dentures

These custom-made, full-jaw dentures feature replacement teeth that are fitted to an acrylic base. The base is made to match the color of your natural oral tissue.

Conventional Complete Dentures

These full-jaw dentures are a solution for patients who do not have their natural teeth. Complete dentures – often called full dentures – feature an upper and/or lower piece. The base of the upper denture covers the roof of the mouth and is held in place by the seal that is formed by your own saliva between the denture base and the gums and palate. The horseshoe-shaped lower denture allows room for your tongue to rest comfortably. Your saliva helps keep the denture in place, as well as your cheek muscles and tongue.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures are a solution for patients who need their natural teeth removed. Because we don’t want you to be without your teeth at any time, we will create an immediate denture for you. You will wear your immediate denture home after your extractions and continue to wear it until your mouth is healed in about four to six months.

Immediate dentures offer several advantages: They protect the tissues of the mouth, acting similar to a Band-Aid. They also make the transition from your natural teeth to your first dentures much smoother.

During the healing period, you will come in for a series of adjustments and temporary relines. These adjustments are necessary as your mouth heals and gets used to your dentures. This will result in a more comfortable immediate denture.
