Aspen Dental practices hear a lot of interesting stories from patients regarding their dental experiences in-and-out-of the office. In one particularly unusual instance, an Aspen Dental patient woke up to find her dentures in pieces on the floor of her bedroom, apparently chewed up by her pet Yorkie! Fortunately she came into her Aspen Dental office and was able to get a brand new pair of dentures the very same day.
We wanted to share our top dental tips on keeping your dentures in tip top shape (and intact):
1) Keep your dentures in a safe place, away from pets (Yorkies in particular) and children
2) Clean your dentures every day (after each meal if possible)
3) Brush your dentures with a denture brush, not a regular brush as it can damage the surface of the denture teeth
4) Remember to brush your gums, tongue and palate every day to remove plaque and to keep the inside of your mouth clean and healthy
5) Dentures can dry out and lose their shape over time. Whenever they are not in your mouth, place them in a denture soaking solution or water
6) Remember to come into Aspen Dental for periodic adjustments and checkups to assure your dentures remain comfortable and last as long as possible.
Come into any Aspen Dental location for help with damaged or lost dentures, or if your dentures just aren’t fitting properly. With an onsite denture in every office, most repairs can be made while you wait.
