As we age, our teeth begin to change over time. We want you to be aware of some of these changes and how they might affect your smile.
If you have arthritis in your hands it may become more difficult to brush and floss your teeth. Try adapting the toothbrush for easy use. Insert the handle into a rubber ball or sponge hair curler.
A common issue with aging is root decay - a condition that affects older adults if a great amount of root surfaces are exposed. Daily brushing and flossing can help prevent against this condition.
Many older Americans suffer from some form of natural tooth loss. In a lot of cases, dentures, partial or full, can be a good solution. Talk to your doctor if you think dentures may be right for you.
